Postsecondary Education

Increasingly, the path to sustainable careers requires education beyond a high school diploma.

However, student debt may stifle education and career opportunities for younger workers. Policymakers, who are interested in increasing the numbers of workers who hold postsecondary credentials, also want to know which types of undergraduate programs—colleges and universities, community colleges, technical institutes and proprietary schools—provide the best return on investment, and how to calculate costs and benefits accurately. Upjohn researchers are contributing to this policy discussion.
